My philosophy: My goal as a teacher, especially as a special education teacher, is to help strengthen my students' abilities as individuals in whatever challenge which may come their way. Whether it is reading, writing, math, socializing with others, or accepting feedback from adults/authority- I want to help guide them. My goal is to help them in becoming confident, hardworking and respectful individuals, and ultimately, the best versions of themselves. However, with this guidance, there has to be a level of effort and a desire from my students to want to become better. Below is a video which ties in with my philosophy and serves as a daily reminder for my students on the importance of school. School is not simply for acquiring academic skills, but more importantly, for learning how to overcome challenges, which helps prepare us to become the best we can be.
